This nightmare just keeps getting worse and worse. I am getting a lawyer and filing for a law suit against this hospital I think. This morning I met with the doctor who says, "I have no medical concerns for your son, you can take him home today." Then the nurse says to him, "Are you sure they should be discharged without the final blood work coming back?" And he said yes we are good to go! He doesn't think CJ is in withdrawal, it is his low blood sugar. So I'm sooo fricken happy that everything is okay and they believe me now and I get to bring my son home, I even dressed him up so nice to go home! I'll post a picture after! Anyways, a couple hours after getting home I get a call from the hospital saying we need to come back as soon as possible, CJ has a blood infection. The reason why he looked like he was in withdrawal is because he has strep B. Ladies, if you don't know what that is please google it now and see how serious this illness is for newborns. Babies die from this. And symptoms? All the same as symptoms of withdrawal. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? First of all, why the hell were we discharged if his blood test wasn't back yet? Secondly, my sons life was at risk because they decided to judge me on the fact that I smoked marijuana during pregnancy instead of realizing that strep B has the exact same symptoms and I was positive for it?!?!?! They didn't fucking put two and two together?!!?!??!? From the second he was born they were telling me one thing and then another. First, I was producing lots of colostrum and feeding well. Then he wasn't eating enough and developed jaundice. Then, his tremors were probably normal and his blood sugar was good. Suddenly his tremors are so bad he must be in withdrawal and his sugar is very low. Next, oh it's not withdrawal is just low sugar.... also a sign of strep B.... but blood test isn't back yet although he should be fine go home and enjoy your son!!! Then they call me saying he has a life threatening illness?????? Are you for fucking serious???? I bring him back to the hospital and the paediatrician says well ta not the doctors fault your baby looked fine! WHAT!!!!!!!!! I have gone through so much with this place, they are throwing me up and down up and down, no one is doing their damn job and my son did not receive proper care, something will be done about this for sure. CJ has to stay in NICU for five days minimum, poor baby is hooked up to an IV receiving anti-biotics and undergoing so much testing its insane. Please keep my baby boy in your thoughts and I will keep you all posted 💕 thanks mamas!
