you can try and ask...they won't do it before 39weeks. I have an induction scheduled for the 30th. I will be 39+4 days. The hospital I will deliver at is far so my doctor said that he would do it for that reason

usually most obs will not induce for discomfort, only if you or baby are or will be in danger if your pregnancy continues.
