little bubbles won't cause harm but bigger bubbles can.

you did good though by saying something. maybe she will pay better attention next time she primes her iv tubing. I always make sure my iv tubing is free of any large bubbles when I do ivs.

Yeah aren't you supposed to like pull first to pull air out then let it bubbles float to the top then inject the solution? @jumebaby

if it's iv fluids you prime the tubing by letting the solution run through the tube until there are no bubbles or just tiny ones. for just a saline lock iv you just push a little fluid out of the syringe to clear the air and then flush it. you can also prime it with the cap still in the syringe. you just push until it pops and then it's ready to go. it's normal to see small bubbles but you don't want large ones.

No it's medication... Ik you prime the tubing but somehow I guess a bubble ended up in the tube connected in her arm???? Bc I watched it push through into her arm but I mean that's been forever ago I'm sure it would have affected her already! Idk it just scared me I started panicing!!!! Just didn't know if it was supposed to be like that or what bc I always heard it's serious if that was to happen. @junebaby

oh ok, the nurse could have drew out the air but that small amount in the saline lock tubing won't hurt her if it's flushed on through. it takes quite a bit of air to cause any problems but I understand that fear.
