I have an appointment this Friday to do the five year Mirena IUD...did anyone have positive/negative…

i got mine at the beginning of February. i bled on and off(mostly on) up until about a week and a half ago with consistant terrible cramps the whole time. i was feeling ok for aboit a week and now the cramps are back and they arent fun. but im not bleeding again....yet. so thats my experience so far lol

I had mine removed after a few months because it slipped out of place. Everyone else I know had a good experience

I didn't have any problems with mine. I cramped and bled for the first couple weeks but then my periods went to only spotting.

I got mine in 2008 had it for the full 5 yrs and had it removed it didn't bother me I didn't bleed long after I got it and I had no cycles overall I was happy wth it and plan on gettin another one after I have skylar

mine was good up until about my third year, moved further up into my uterus made me put on excessive weight with pregnancy like symptoms. Had it surgically removed in 2012. it was put in 2009

Ohh lawd Iol @juliagail09 ugh I guess the irregular period the one of the side effects!!! Man I seriously don't miss having period smh😩 lol

I had the Mirena a few years ago and I bled nonstop for about 4-5 months I also developed ovarian cyst and had painful cramps. I removed it and all my issues cleared right up. Everybody handles things differently like my sister absolutely loved the Mirena she had no periods at all. My body just has always responded negatively to hormones which is why I chose the paragard IUD this time around.

i don't miss them either😳😣

It's a copper IUD and it doesn't have any hormones. @mrynbruton

Oh and it's good for 10 years

With the paragard you still get periods monthly. I absolutely miss not getting periods, and so far my cycles have been heavier, but since it's hormone free I'm just going to have to deal with that lol. @mrynbruton

I prefer irregular periods than none at all tho lol @prettyyellow
