I don't know what to do.. My daughter has been home for 5 weeks and my boyfriend still isn't really stepping up and won't get off his video game. He hasn't changed a single diaper, hasn't woken up by with her at night once, has given her maybe 5 bottles, stopped reading to her, went to one doctors appointment and complains every time I ask him to watch her so I can do something. But he tells me constantly what I can and can't do with emma. I've had several talks with him, and he keeps saying he'll change but nothing is changing. Whenever he's supposed to watch her, he typically gives her to his mom and tonight I asked him if he could start getting up with her at nights and he said no..I don't know how much longer I should give him before im just done and move back home...i feel like emma deserves so much better than a dad who still puts himself first and I feel like I deserve better than a boyfriend who leaves everything up to me...

@mama_bear, it's just so hard, I want to believe he'll change so bad, and when we have our talks he changes for like 2 days then it's back to the way it was..im starting to get so exhausted and depressed

alot of men have this attitude like everything is supposed to be on the mom. Hell no they should be helping just as much. Hope he gets it together for you & the baby's sake

@busy_prissy, it sucks, I'm sorry you're going through it too..I told mine if he didn't step up by April 12th I was leaving..I really thought he would but he's not..I don't really want to break up because I want my daughter growing up in a home with both her parents and I don't want to lose time with her having joint custody..but I'm so unhappy at this point and I'm starting to feel so resentful

@busy_prissy, I know, I'm trying so hard to be happy but I can't. And I keep trying to leave her with him more to help him get the hint and it makes me feel so bad cause i know she can sense he doesn't want to

it's hard. I can't get nothing done.

I do home he smartens up for your guys' sake before its too late. And not just temporary....But see this my point why do they even need to be told! We ain't in no 1920's !!! All responsibilities should be shared. I'm my baby's mom I ain't your mom and don't want to be you're grown ass man....start acting like it! @queenof2 I agree!!! 100% @busy_prissy they do and it affects babies behavior and their happiness! Plus they turn more fussy and stuff!

@ashbabash18, yeah honestly then better do it on your own cause then at least h won't frustrate fighting & arguing wasting energy that you need for your baby. And as @busy_prissy said its true babies sense how's mama feeling and that's how they react too. You get s fussy & unhappy baby too all cause of one

I understand you. He needs to step up. The only thing my man never does and I know with our other two girls is change diapers. because he don't line to wipe them. He says he don't feel comfortable and don't wanna hurt them. I totally understand but if he has to he will. Your man needs to help you out. if not do what you gotta do girl to make him realize your not playing. Emma comes first.
