the average time a baby is born is between 37-42 weeks. the date the doctors give you as a DD is an ESTIMATE, because even they don't know down to the minute the exact time you conceived. the DD they give you isn't an end all be all ESPECIALLY if you're a FTM. Some folks go a couple days past their "DD" talking about getting medically induced. If you're fine and baby is fine (blood pressure is good, stress tests come back normal, amniotic fluid is good etc) then there is no medical reason to be induced. Yes those last couple of weeks are uncomfortable and nerve wracking, but you've made it this far, whats a couple more days of letting baby cook? Continue trying some ways to naturally induce labor (exercise ball, red raspberry leaf tea starting at 36/37 wks, evening primrose oil starting at 37 wks, nipple stimulation, sex, walking stairs, spicy foods etc), and remember DONT STRESS! Your baby will come out when they're ready

labor is easier when it's on your own also my daughter I was induced because I was leaking amniotic fluid and was in labor for 16 hours and riped so bad! with my son my water broke on its own and was in labor for 6 hours and not one rip

I soo agree!!! Amen to that 👏🙌And that's what I wonder seeing women right away freak out! And btw medically inducing is big time stress on the baby and mother too and the progress is way longer than naturally! When a mother becomes "in touch" with her body calmly and aware labor can progress naturally normal. Etc...etc!

@brandi_22, sorry I didn't see your comment...but see I hear this! oh yes and I heard that too you rip for sure when induced. I trust myself and my body and I will be in touch with my body to let this be a natural normal birth as it should be! :)

yes unless your are forced to by medical reasons then wait I couldn't believe how fast it happened naturally

I'm hoping for my little girl to come on her own this week because I'm high risk with diabetes they are inducing me in just over a week...however I'm not doing anything to induce labor myself except sex...as uncomfortable as I am I want her to stay in as long as she can...my mom never went past 37 weeks...most were between 5 and 7 weeks early and my sister had hers at 35 weeks...and her daughter was in the nicu for a while...I'm just so happy I've made it this far lol.
