Good morning ladies, I need some advice because I wont be seeing my doctor just yet and am a little concerned. Please tell me if what I'm experiencing is normal, good or bad. All day everyday I am hungry right, but for some reason just the thought, smell or taste of food has made me sick to my stomach. For the most part I drink ginger ale and eat saltine crackers to soothe my pain but everyday is a struggle to eat enough or eat at all. My nausea comes and goes but I puke only when I'm feeling the worst or super hungry. What can I do to gain an appetite and eat enough and still get the proper nutrition for both baby and me? I'll be 10 weeks on Wednesday.

The sound of doing that turns me off to food even more. I don't like anything cold except ice cream and drinks, to eat cold food other than a salad would be a challenge. I just wish I had an appetite to eat everything my heart/baby desired. I'm really frustrated and dont want to lose a lot of weight.

Well the good thing is at this point the baby isn't eating off you... so if you can't eat alot or enough in a day just know it's not seriously impacting your baby. but I had to eat cereal and cold sandwiches in the beginning anything heated up would make me wanna throw up. I also got put on nausea meds because I was missing school and work so much which really helped me.

oh just saw you said you don't eat cold food. hmm you could buy ginger pills maybe that would help. also at baby's r us had these candies called preggy pops for nausea. maybe try those until you can see your doctor

Thanks alot mum. I tried the preggie pops with my last baby (SIP Angel- Jan 31, 2014) They didnt seem to help out much but at this point I'm willing to try anything to be comfortable and able to eat again

I was like that all the way up to about 17 weeks and I'm very slowly getting an appetite back

@mrsstewart, How did you cope and what kinds of food were you able to eat

I honestly could barley do anything.. I drank ice water and those yogurt drinks. As far as food I had to make myself eat. Spaghettios and meat balls was one of the easier things I could eat when I was getting my appetite back

Ugh this sucks @mrsstewart I cant eat anything without being in excruciating pain after. Saltines, bread, cereal, soup etc everything is a struggle to keep down or eat without feeling like crap. appointment next week

I hope you start feeling better! I had to make myself eat and even then it was barley anything just enough to make me feel better but I still ended up throwing back up.... Try to drink as much water as possible so you don't get dehydrated especially if you get sick a lot you'll dehydrate faster. I did and ended up in the hospital not fun
