Anyone live in Kansas and have Kancare insurance? I'm 33 weeks and waiting on approval. my anxiety…

i live in kansas! i sighned up for kancare my very beging of my pregnancy it took about 3 weeks to get accepted! make sure you filled everything out correctly. you can ways call and them and they will update you. i have united health care. theres 3 different insurances through kancare

@firsttimemomma thanks for the response. I'm going to call them everyday till I get an answer. they told my husband that based on his income we would get approved. I just finished getting them all the paperwork they needed on Monday. I'm just so nervous for some reason they will deny me. 😞 I hope it won't take them 3 weeks I don't really have time to wait much longer especially since my appts are every two weeks now. do they cover everything?

yeah i felt the anxiety too. waiting was the hardest part but what i did was as soon as i sent the papers in i called and told them. i faxed mine and waited about 30 min too call them. then that same day they told me i was missing a check stub and i was going crazy lol i legit freaked out thinking i wasnt going to get accepted. yess they cover absolutely everything :) witch is a big weight lifted off my shoulders because doctor visits & labor and delievery are sooo through the roof expensive. id be in debt thats for sure. whats really cool is they have a website. you join the website and its called babyblocks amd every time you go too appt. you tell them and every other month is a good present :) so far ive gotten a black diaper bag. a breastfeeding blanket and bottles. since you will be getting accepted now you will get the presents for the 3rd trimester and as soon as you have baby. the baby gets gifts @felicia85

plus they give you youre own nurse and she calls once a week. well it was once a month till i turned 8 months and she just calls to ask how things are and if we have questions stuff like that. she is 24/7 nurse and ive called her plenty of times! lol

wow @firsttimemomma that is so awesome! I had no idea they would give you gifts! I'm just ready for the approval to be final. it would be a lot of weight off my shoulders for sure. like you said Doc. bills are through the roof and my family was sinking quick. it would be nice not to have that stress especially in the last few weeks!

I applied and it took about 2-3 weeks to get approved!

not to mention I have no other back up plans if they don't approve me. I heard that they have to Approve all pregnant mother's no matter what, but I'm not sure how accurate that is.

it is awesome! it takes some stress away from aloot. i know my husband is the only one working right now so it was extremely important too get accepted ! im sure you will get approved :) @felicia85

thanks @btener014 I'm still hoping it doesn't take that long. I mean I could understand if I was in the beginning of my pregnancy but I'm at the tail end. in my opinion I should be first in line for review and approval

At first I wasn't even going to apply until she was born but I needed WIC because my family makes too much money and that's the only way I could get WIC lol now I'm glad I did it when I did so my little one can be covered too

I'm sure you'll get approved soon though!

I have Kancare and I'm 23 weeks in Mission Kansas.. And I just got my insurance 6 or 7 weeks ago..
