I wouldn't go by weight. My sister had a 6 pound baby with a bigger head than my almost 9 pounder. They are usually off on the weight too by as much as two pounds. They said my sister in laws baby was 7.13 at 36 weeks and at 40+4 she delivered a 7.9 pound baby girl.

Follow your gut instinct. If you believe in your heart you can have her vaginally then express that. If your concerned due to a medical reason , I suggest preparing yourself for a safer alternative. Good luck! KNOW YOUR OPTIONS !!! & listen to your gut!

@junebaby & @mamasaint3 , that makes me feel better, they aren't doing a c section unless they have too. I'm prepared for anything at this point because my pregnancy has been so back and forth so i guess I'll have to wait and see

nothing wrong with a c-section if its medically needed. just don't let them scare you

@mamasaint3, thank you and @junebaby, they said my hips are physically tiny.. but they are going to let me try. my first doctor was making me have a c section no matter what I wanted so we switched. my new doctors are so much better!

Amen @junebaby doctors these days say whatever. Know your options pretty mama ! Your body was made to give birth! You are strong! Trust your body it knows the way!

they say that to get u to get a c section listen we are women our bodies are made to do this my I was 110 and five foot three with my first they told me the same thing I labored at home got to the hospital and delivered him naturally in 15 minutes follow your heart and instincts

I don't think weight is as important as head size. Tans head measured 5 weeks larger an he was over 9 pounds. And I have birth vaginally. All 4 of my dad's kids had to be csections due to heads to big to fit.

Oh and I'm 115 and 5'2". Most people are totally shocked to hear I gave birth naturally but I knew I could do it and I wasn't going to let anyone talk me out of what I knew I could do. Stand up for yourself and don't let them scare you. Larger babies normally take longer to get out vaginally and OB's don't want to deal with that.

I'm only 34 weeks and they said my son is estimating a little over 5 pounds already and his head is measuring 2 weeks ahead. I'm only 5" and 140 pounds, I have high BP, this is my first baby, and they haven't mentioned anything about a C-Section. You do what you feel is best. It is all your decision in the end so go with you feel comfortable with. Don't let the doctors hassle you into a C-Section if that's not what you want. @sking092192

@sking092192, when I was pregnant with my son my first doctor told me if he was over 7ibs I would have to have a csection because he wouldn't fit through my bone frame because I was so small.

I was then told that he weighed 6ibs 12oz at 35w.

I switched doctors and my new doc told me that doctors just tell you that to give you a csection to make it easier on themselves. I ended up delivering an 8ib 7oz baby vaginally. I had to have an episiotomy and they had to assist me with the vacuum but that wasn't exactly his size it was cause I stopped pushing at a bad time. Don't let doctors scare you
