I went to the doctor a few weeks ago for what I thought was a bladder infection, he did a urine culture and treated me for the symptoms, but when the results came back, everything was clean. No infection of any sort or anything. My levels were normal, there was nothing abnormal, everything was prefect.. no kidney stones or anything. except, there was a small trace of blood... what would have caused it? Anything you can think of?

This sounds exaclty what was going on with me. Long story short, two years of seeing doc after doc i was referred to a urologist and had a cyst removed from my urethra and i have intersitial cystitis ( bladder pain syndrome) where it constantly feels like you have an infection but no bacteria exists. I was put on meds and i stopped taking them (we started teying for a baby) and only took it when needed. I dont have to take it anymore because it helped my bladder

That's what I'm starting to think I have. It's apparently hard to test for, and every symptom I have points to bps. I Google's my symptoms, and that's what it pulled up. But it apparently doesn't cause complications, just pain. I really think that might be what it is.

They cant really test for it. I went through a procedure where they put catheters inside to fill my bladder with water and to see when the pain would start and to measure the amount of water. They will also do a scopy of your urethra to make sure its nothing blocking it .. Its extensive but well worth it to look into , it sucks lol

Its generally caused by carrying a baby and giving birth

well, I've had the problem for over a year now.. so I don't think it's from being pregnant. @montanamommyof2

Hmm other things can cause it too, def make an appt with a urologist and tell them thats what you think it is

Well, they haven't seen anything abnormal the few times I've went to the doctor. on xrays, ultrasounds, nothing. everything was normal.. I had a bladder infection for about a year, and just now got it taken care of this past August. it could just be healing still from the bladder infection, ya know? idunno.. I don't like the doctor..and so far everything's fine with the pregnancy, no complications.. so I'm not really too worried about it for now. it's not like it's an unbearable pain, just discomfort mostly. @montanamommyof2

Yeah but having one longer than a week can do some serious damage to your bladder. I had to push my regular doc to see a urologist because he was doing the same thing. Its nit going to show up abnormal in those types of tests
