My oldest daughter paisley has been sick lately and they diagnosed her with Anemia in January and we went to the drs 2 days ago cause she's had weird bruising on her and they said her hemoglobin was so low they're surprised she's not hospitalized. but I got the call back from her dr today and this is the news I got:

they are sending us to a pediatric blood specialist in Sacramento (UC Davis) and we should get a call from them within the next 2 weeks. They said they can't tell me much over the phone but Hemoglobin F, and Thalassemia are two blood disorders she has but they said there's more they want to discuss in person with the specialist and to discuss treatment and other things that's going on with her. They said she's not anemic and her iron levels are pretty high since she has been on an iron supplement for the last 6 weeks. What she has is genetic and more than likely the reason for her always being sick. I don't know how I feel right now, and I didn't even know I had a family history of this at all or that Alex did either. I will update after meeting with the specialist and praying whatever else they tell is will be good news.

I've done a little research on it but couldn't stop crying since blood transfusions is probably the route they're going to go, and it's NOT cureable/treatable... only manageable. thalassemia causes early death,( between age 20 &30;), liver failure, heart problems, and more. I've been very upset all day. she's only 15 months old. we're currently looking into cord blood banks and everything else we can to get more information since we're expecting again. any information and prayers are welcome. thank you ladies ♡
