My daughters umbilical cord fell off at 6 days old! Its smelly and yellow. I took her to the doctor and she said it looks normal but idk how they are supposed to heal and the smell really bothers me.

You can clean the area with rubbing alcohol I think is what I used. Really helped dry the blood out and clean it up. Tannons fell off early to

Yea what @californiahaley said my baby's umbilical cord fell off to early & it was bleeding I thought it was never going to heal till I decided to use alcohol & qtips. it healed up about a week later.

Just clean the outside or the inside? Is it normal for it to be yellow inside and smelly? @californiahaley @january10th

my baby's was smelly & bloody I cleaned the inside of it & the outside every time I changed his diaper

& I dried it off afterwards with clean dry qtips
