so I'm positive for the group b strep. antibiotics when I'm in labor.

My test is tomorrow. Does it hurt?

@mmmirage, it hurt a little when she opened me up, but I'm really swollen. it didn't hurt when she checked my cervix tho.

Opened u up ?? 😳 do they use a clamp? 😩 I'm also getting dilation checked as well! And this is all after getting waxed! Ahhhh

I did my swab myself lol. So mine didn't hurt at all it was like sticking a q tip in my crotch just the tip. @mmmirage

@regelbaby - oh that's not bad. Did u get your dilation checked yet? I heard they stick their fingers pretty far n make u sore the way they feel it

No I haven't! And I'm almost 40 weeks! I'm wondering if it's bc I have a midwife maybe midwives don't check??..... I kinda wish she did just so I could get excited if I was a just a lil dilated even :)

@mmmirage, i had my dilation check 1 week ago or a bit more. it was uncomfortable at first not gonne lie. a little bit of pressure BUT i dont remember being sore after

@regelbaby - oh yeah! They don't check! They're more into the natural flow. Doctors like to stick their fingers everywhere and do all kinds of tests lollll

@firsttimemomma - oh ok! I was wondering Cuz I saw other posts abt getting cramps afterwards 😰 im more nervous because my waxing appt is Tom. I'll be so sore . It hurts more n more every month 😩

ooohh yeah its gonna be a long day for you! just try to relax! when i was laying on the table having my doctor check my legs were SO TENSED UP lmao i was so shy idk why. he and the nurse kept telling me to relax -.- @mmmirage what is the other thing they are gonna test you for?

@regelbaby, my midwife checked the strep but hasn't checked dilation and tomorrow is my 40 week apointment

I was group b positive too I only got one dose of meds during labor because I had my son so fast but they said that should be good enough you'll have to stay 48 hours after labor to make sure baby doesn't catch anything

@mmmirage, yeah she checked me for dilation, didn't hurt for me but after I has so many contractions

the biggest sign is if baby gets s fever so many girls have group b

@firsttimemomma - Yeh I get really shy too! She said they will check the strep b and dilation. That's abt it so I don't know which one they will do first but I wana get it over with. I'm honestly dreading the waxing more lol my skin got way more swollen and sensitive than last month

@babybishop2015 - oh yikes. I don't like the sound of that! That's so uncomfy. If we are positive, do u know how we get that? What's it from exactly ?

@babybishop2015, I did the strep b test myself at the clinic. My midwife just told me what to do n how to do it. Pretty much like sticking the tip of a q tip in my crotch and then my butt lol. But as far as dilation goes like @mmmirage said they're more about the all natural way of doing things so I haven't been checked and I'm almost 40 weeks.

I was too. luckily the antibiotics were just given through the iv and everything was fine :)

Ya lemme know. I'm kind of afraid to ask I don't want her to think I'm rushing anything or too anxious. But I know ide be excited if I was dilated any. @spud
