so i thought you could keep breast milk in the fridge for a week. but if I put a bottle in the fridge the next day it's separated and watery looking. can I shake it up and still use it or should I throw it out. I haven't given her any from the bottles yet

if it's only a day old of course you can! never shake breast milk, just kind of swirl it around in the bottle!

it's normal. it's like clearish on the top and more milky looking on the bottom. and I'm not 100% sure but when I breastfed my friend and lactation consultant always told me not to. I never asked why!
