I just want to point out that just because some women go natural, which is great, it doesn't mean they "handled the pain better" than a woman who gets an epidural. every labor and delivery is different. when my mom had me, I was breech. this was during a time when c sections weren't an immediate go-to just for a breech birth. so I came out feet first and my head was so big it got stuck lol. so it took a long time just to push my big ass head out and I was born with black eyes because they got rubbed so much from my going back in and out. I'm sure my son will have a big ass head too XD. also, there are other complications that arise during labor that also cause more pain. don't shit on women who get an epidural. knowing how my birth was, I'm keeping my options open.

@goldenboobies, exactly! When I had my first baby I had to get an epidural at only 2cm because my daughters heart rate and blood pressure was going sky high so the nurses said it would be best for me to get an epidural because the intensity of the contractions were stressing her out. I asked if I could wait a little more time since the pain was tolerable but they said it was too dangerous for her so I had no choice! Now I'm due in two weeks with my second baby and I'm hoping she comes on her own so I can wait at home as long as possible before going to the hospital

So true I've had two natural but I was jes lucky tht I got to the hospital so late tht I onli had time to push not even time for an iv but I'm not ruling an epidural out this time if it's hurting tht bad by all means give me the drugs

It's a better choice imo to get an epidural if you're in too much pain to focus. being able to focus on pushing properly and being able to focus on your breathing is VERY important for the baby to keep their stress level down. I'd rather get one so I can focus properly than to be all over the place screaming and freaking out. If I end up having an easier labor and I can control it for the most part, then I won't feel the need for an epidural.
