Labor story! So i was induced at 41 weeks on Wednesday February 11th since my stubborn little girl didn't wanna come out! We went to the hospital at 7:30pm and she checked to see if i was dialated i was still closed so she started me on these pills to start my contractions. I took 3 doses in 12 hrs and it helped to soften my cervix but only dialated me to 1cm in 12 hrs, my cervix was to hard for pitocin so she put this medication behind my cervix that had to stay for 12 hours and i had to sit on the monitor the entire time, it was so uncomfortable! She put that in at 2pm around 7pm my contractions started to get stronger and more frequent by 11pm i was ready for it to come out and stop the induction! I wasn't even in labor yet but i was in so much pain from the contractions they ended up giving me a sleep aid to help me sleep through the contractions at 2am she took the medication out she checked me and i was only 3cm but 80% effaced which was good means i was making progress but i was so scared cause I knew pitocin would be stronger contractions and that was next. The nurse gave me a break so I hopped in the bath and slept in there which really relaxed me I got out and got back on the monitor for 30 minutes then got back off and she gave me another break because i was in back labor i got back in the bath and got out and took a nap, the nurse came back in around 4am hooked up my ivs to start pitocin. At 6am my ob came in and checked my cervix i was at 4cm still 80% effaced finally in active labor she popped my water and called for the epidural! While i was waiting i threw up my contractions got so strong but soon as i got the epidural I felt amazing! I couldn't feel nothing! I was so happy I slept through all my contractions by 10am i was 10cm dialated but my baby girl had flipped and was still high so they gave me a ball between my legs to turn her and wait on her to drop by 11:45am she had flipped back and I started pushing at 11:55am and she was out at 12:14pm! I didn't feel anything! I am all for the epidural if we don't have to feel pain why should we suffer! It was such a long process but worth every moment to meet my beautiful surprise baby!
