Anyone else have a scheduled C-section date? If you already had one, how did it go? Anything I should pack or know?

How was it? Did it hurt afterwards? I plan on breast feeding did it like interfere with taking care of the baby? And how long did they keep you in the hospital for? Sorry all these questions lol 🙈 @alhynele

It wasn't bad at all. Didn't feel anything, even the needle didn't hurt. Make sure u stay on top of the pain meds cause after the epidural wears of you'll feel pain. But if u keep up with pain meds u will be fine. You should be able to walk the next day. They will most likely keep u in hospital for 3-4 days. The first night u will have a catheter in. Also I highly suggest bringing your Boppy pillow of u are breastfeeding cause it made it a whole lot easier to feed baby while sitting up in the bed. It will make it comfortable for both u and baby.

I've been fine with my recovery. I went to trader joes to buy groceries the day after I got discharged lol.

I had a last minute csection (planned the night before) cause my daughter was too big. it was horrible. I threw up constantly during it, the spinal was done twice and I'm Still numb on my butt. it was completely over in an hour, but she was delivered in 31 mins. it hurt super bad after, I breast fed within 45 mins of her being born and nursed her for a year. I had no problem breast feeding. just use lots of pillows to help prop baby. they kept me in the hospital for 4 days after.

I'm having my second csection June 12th and praying that it'll be easier. it took me 3 months to recover but I would do it all again lol. (and I am!)

I'm not meaning to scare you im just not sugar coating anything. I think I hurt so much cause I didn't want to seem like a sissy and take my meds so I went almost 24 hours without any after the spinal wore off (I had a spinal tap not an epidural). I was so dizzy during surgery and kept shaking really bad. sometimes after the medicine will make your face itch but don't scratch it lol.

I packed 3 outfits for me, 5 for baby, headbands (cause she was a girl) 3 receiving blankets, scratch mittens, socks (for baby and you) phone chargers, little thing of shampoo/conditioner, body wash, deodorant, toothbrush, and hair tyes.

Oh and slippers cause you have to have non slip socks or slippers. and nursing bras :)

I had one with my first baby and will have another one next month. I also got the spinal block and didn't feel a thing, but that medicine DID make my face itch and there is nothing they can give you (at least they wouldn't give me anything). It didn't take very long, but I had an extra surgery after they delivered my daughter so it took a little bit longer. In my opinion, it was easy. I didn't succeed at breastfeeding, but I also didn't get much help while in the hospital. It all depends on your tolerance for pain as well. I sometimes skipped my pain medication and handled it well. Stayed 3 or 4 days and went home.
