what are receiving blankets... are they different from regular blankets?

yes a receiving blanket are thinner than regular blankets

im pretty sure that they are like just the super thin blankets....and not the cute fluffy ones...

are they like the ones u put over ur shoulder for burping so incase the baby throws up its not on a nice blanket... kinda like a throw away that's not really a throw away? @juliagail09 @wyattsmommy91

I use mine for when I take him out and its not cold but chilly I cover him up with them in his car seat they can be used for burping baby in case they spit up and I use his for swaddling him up

They're thin, normally a flannel type material, they are what you normally use to swaddle babies. And they are normally smaller then other blankets to use with newborns or small babies.

im honestly not quite sure...i have some and have used one once....i use burp rags for over my shoulder but you could use a recieving blanket for that if you wanted too.
