Yes but if you can help it I wouldn't start that habit. Once your baby is too big for the swig then it'll be hard to get it comfortable elsewhere.

my son slept in his swing for two months and then we moved him to his crib.

my son spent his first few weeks in a swing 24/7 cuz he had colic and it was the only thing to keep him quiet ..

i think my brother did but you must know leaving them in there for long periods of time may not be the best thing since you said don't judge. how about cosleeping. read up on safe ways to do it. many are against it but there are safe ways of doing it. I did it with my first and he's still bed sharing with us at almost 3 years old. my new baby will be there as well when he or she gets too big for our cosleeper bassinet
