There were a lot of complaints yesterday following a certain individual's inconsiderate remarks in the context of someone's tragic situation. And a subsequent emotional exchange that went past the subject matter.

We are not going to ban the individual in question from Preggie in this instance. We feel it is important to use this as an example to explain how moderation works here. We will ban people upon complaints from community generally in one of the two instances:

1⃣ Unprovoked and cold-blooded insulting behavior, involving personal attacks and offensive comments aimed at individuals or community, which demonstrates acute lack of fit with community. A capital offense by our standards

2⃣ Repeat reactive insults or habitual use of strong/offensive language by previous offenders

We have given due consideration to yesterday's complaints and choose to give the individual in question the benefit of the doubt in this instance. Initial remarks were unbecoming a mother or anyone who expects to receive support during a difficult moment, which we hope is a mistake that will not be repeated. Exchanges that have followed have caused us to place the individual in question on the watchlist in re #2 of the above criteria.

May we suggest that these shouting matches are a really poor alternative to using the Blacklist. They will happen here. They put both sides in danger of getting carried away /losing friends/being banned, even if ignited by a minor disagreement between friends. More importantly, you need to use your energy wisely - now more than ever.
