Well I would rather be safe than sorry since gestational diabetes is common in pregnancy. 👍 @squishymommy1

It's actually not that common outside the US...where glucose testing is done when thee are risk factors or symptoms present. The US has created this "GD" epidemic by testing for it with woefully inaccurate testing.

I tried to do the 3 hour test. my doctor requested I do it because Wren was so big, even though I "passed" the first one (it was borderline fasting level after an hour, indicating my history of hypoglycemia). anyway. I agreed and even though I ended up massively crashing in the first hour, I got the gist. You fast from midnight to the appointment. They'll take a blood sample for a base fasting reading, then you drink the glucose drink. at 1 hour they'll draw blood again. Then at hour 2 and finally at hour 3. Bring water (it's all you'll be allowed to have) and something to keep you occupied. You should be perfectly fine if you don't have any issues with low blood sugar. if you end up with a real problem, they'll stop the test and possibly send you home with a glucometer and instructions. it'll be okay. No worries.

idk with my first it tasted like a really sugary soda pop, I'm hoping the same this time around too lol
