Should I Avoid Combining Families at My Baby Shower?

My husband's aunt wants to throw me a baby shower, she said she needed names and addresses... if I don't invite my family, it'll be his mom, siblings, and grandma, only. All his friends are in GA, and all of mine are too far as well to make it, or can't drive. But, I really, honestly don't want my family and his family together... Ever. For any reason. I don't believe in the two families being together, and I honestly don't see a reason Why they should meet. Especially with our families. His has caused me so many problems, mine doesn't like them... Idunno what to do.. :( I don't wanna put myself in a uncomfortable position, but there's no point in a baby shower, if only 7 people are gonna be there...
