My son is 6 weeks old, I breastfeed but I started giving him Similac Formula at 4 weeks. I don't feed him formula all the time, since I still breastfeed. But lately he pushes a lot, like if he's trying to poop, he does that all day and night. He poops around 3 times a day. And also after every feeding breast milk and formula I notice his stomach gets bubbly. Any idea what this could be ?

are you using similac advance? (the blue bottle) if so, it could be that. my son was exactly the same way. he would go to the bathroom numerous times in the day but he would strain to go and he would cry after each feeding bc of all the gas in his stomach. I went and got little remedies gas drops prior to me going to my son's doctor and they helped for the time being. I then went to my son's doctor and he told me to try a sensitive formula, which I did & its worked wonders on him. he doesn't strain to go anymore and has rarely any gas discomfort. hoped this helped.

no prob!! if that's the case try talking to his pediatrician, he may tell you to go a different route with the formula
