Well, no matter what it has to be approved by a judge. The last thing a judge wants to do is have mother and father fighting over baby so the best thing to do is come up with an agreement beforehand. Go to the court house and file for whatever kind of agreement y'all came up with and child support. If he agrees and you agree, it shouldn't take too long. If he wants to fight it, then it could take a lot longer.
I'm not sure about a custody case, but winning a child support case is easy. It usually happens together if you file them together. BUT even though you win a child support case doesn't mean you start receiving it right away. It took DHS 3 years to finally start garnishing my ex's wages only because he didn't willingly pay child support himself.
depends on each case.... is he claiming the child or not... if no then he would have to go thru a paternity test.. he may take forever to take it... if he claims the child it depends if y'all can come to an agreement or not..if he doesn't agree with the terms then y'all gotta go to court -& stuff
