Usually black "holes" like that show fluid. So it should be the brain. Just like the heart will show black, and urine, etc.

mine had that too but they just said it was normal

they have all sorts of dark spots in their head because its transparent and the bones aren't fused together yet. There body will often have them too. Everything is still developing. I had my ultrasound today and you can see dark spots as well in its brain. I'm 15 weeks.

And did your doctor mention anything about it? @junebaby

no all my babies have had it. don't worry. when you get further along they will do the anatomy scan and it will look much better.

go look on Google and type 8 week ultrasound. there are some that look just like your little one. same spot so no worries.

Just looked online and another woman had the same concern and an actual ultrasound tech responded and said no worries at all and that its just fluid and total normal! Yay!
