Mine was super painful to get placed, required a lot of "extra" from the pushbutton to work moderately well, still ended up wearing off while I was pushing, and then afterwards my back is killing me and I was sick and had the shakes which are apparently normal (sucky) side effects. Honestly, if I don't have pitocin with my next baby (I chose the epidural because I could tell the stress and pain of the contractions were interfering with some of my my preexisting conditions) I won't do it again.
i had one with my last pregnancy, it didnt work and i was still in excrucisting pain and they kept saying wait for it to kick in, that thing never kicked lol. FINALLY they realized it wasnt working and they did it again and the second one worked and i was able to nap and be human again...no clue why it didnt work the first time..
I did, I hate needles but fell in love with that one.. occasionally if its freezing outside like sub zero temperatures my bck will get a lil ach.. but in my opinion its definitely worth it!!
My friends have had them and they said it was Def worth it because they got to take a nap and it helped them dilate faster since they were able to let their body relax some.
I did. It's definitely relaxing and sometimes that helps to progress things. I have somewhat long labors so I can make it about halfway before caving in:)
