one of my biggest concerns is that family wont respect how i will deal with my daughter doing something wrong. im personally not the type to spank or place my hands on my child to "teach" her. i never was spanked either so i think my family will respect that but my bf makes it sound like his an mom "beat" them n stuff growing up n she already doesnt like me so if my daughter for whatever reason (hope there is none) is with her alone i hope she doesnt think that shits ok to do to my daughter.

The best thing to do is let whoever might watch her know your ways of discipline. My mother in law spanks her other grandkids but not mine. I explained to her that I have no reason to. I raised mine to simply understand the tones of my voice. My daughter knows when I mean business and I have never had to threaten her either. It's all upbringing. I don't remember my mom ever having to spank me, but I remember my older brothers and sisters doing it. It's a means of lack of control.

Then be just as stubborn with your decision on this subject. If he or she can't respect and accept it, then they don't deserve to be alone with her.

Omg thank YOU! I'm so against hitting too! I remember deleting one app Cuz the moms bashed me because I was against abuse and they said its normal parenting and blah blah

Right?! And what does it solve? They think it's discipline. There's a reason you get suspending in school for fighting. Violence doesn't solve an issue. Makes a person disturbed
