37 4 weeks at appt today and after she checked my cervix I'm hurting: ( im not ready still hope it's just because she felt here head nd thats why my babys acting crazy lol. midwife said baby is between 7.5-8 lbs already how does she know with no ultrasound? she just felt around I didn't wanna sound dumb nd ask.

I wonder the same! and how do they know if the baby is developing at the right speed with no ultrasound? or if development has slowed? IMA ask at my next apt in a week!

@nikki11st, right?? ima ask too I feel like she does it to shut me up lol but I'm concerned maybe I'm just nervous I haven't seen my baby since 30 weeks and always worrying

@nikki11st, @yesenia5 weight is simple a guess from years of experience. When they do the measurement they find te bottom and top of your uterus and measure it. Each week your uterus grows a little and they can measure that to tell about how far along you are. If you're growing at a good rate ect.

Lol my son was 7.6 pounds via ultrasound at 35 weeks. His head at that time measured to be 41.2 weeks.
