Yeah that's definitely not a myth ! I hear it all the time and my nipples are sore when I touch them so imagine when there's a baby on them! My husbands aunt told me it hurts like a bitch, but eventually u get used to it

And I know women who are sad as hell cause they can't breastfeed.

@alhynele, it hurts for the first 3- 4 weeks. after that it doesn't hurt as much but I imagine it hurts because you aren't really used to a little human sucking on your nipples every 2 hours & they suck pretty hard. but it hurts a lot more when baby isn't latching right

@alhynele @alhynele exactly ... if ya man suck on your nipple to hard it hurts lol...let alone a baby trying to suck something out....

I had a little discomfort at first but it didn't hurt. it's just something that you have to get used to. my nipples have never been cracked bleeding or too tender to breastfeed. I did get lucky though I swear my son came out and went to the Boobies with no problem. 5 months later and I wouldn't feed him any other way.

@january10th 3 to 4 weeks is a long time to struggle..then they suckin around the clock.. I just straight up don't wanna deal with it

My sister said if you don't keep nipple cream.on them or u can use your milk and let it dry your nipples start cracking and bleeding which is deff a down side of breast feeding

True but I prepared for the worst lol. I took classes and even took advantage of the lactation consultant/nurse for the two day I was there. My little one is a boobie addict lol

I'm sure it's easier for the moms that have done it already. it took me a while to get my son to latch on the right way in order for it not to hurt & you just have to get used to it. I eventually had to start pumping because my milk came out to fast for him . so I'd pump & bottle feed him that's what made me stop he was drinking out the bottle anyway so I just switched him to formula. I did it because my baby deserved it I tried with my first but it just didn't work out so I didn't want to fail my second I fed him for 3 months. this time I'm hoping to at least make it to 6. & for motivation I have ZERO bottles so I have no choice but to breast feed him

actually I'm a first time mom so it has been amazing that I have been able to go for 5 months. my personal goal is 1 year but I'm letting little one determine how long he wants to breastfeed for.

I tried breastfeeding but he wouldn't latch on, also I didnt produce enough, so I'm not trying with this one.
