So I'm curious for the breast feeding moms out there how long until after they were born did u pump and allow then to be fed from a bottle by the dad or a family member? Did this confuse your baby? The lady at the wic office told me I need to wait 4 weeks before I pump and allow my baby to be fed from a bottle with breast milk. Any opinions or experiences would be awesome!!!
Also random but do u have to burp the baby if you breast feed?

I know my sister did it before four weeks, my niece didn't really like it at first but just had to get used to it...they use the natural bottles for women who breastfeed, maybe that helps...I'm not sure, but she gets one bottle a day from dad and the rest is boob.

I request bottles that won't confuse the baby cause I researched them for.months so I was just curious if its smart to wait the 4 weeks even with the bottles that dont confuse them before I pump to.let my husband feed our son. but this does help thank you @aicnov14

I lied I just texted my sister to make sure but she said she thinks she waited until six! she didn't give a reason though

@wyattsmommy91, I know a lot of people around me who were not able to breastfeed for over a month. I am going to do everything they want me to do because they're the experts. This isn't their first rodeo, ya know? So for me, my plan is to strictly breastfeed (telling the nurses they're full of crap if they tell me any different) until 4-6 weeks. No bottles, pacifiers, or formula. The only reason I would stop is if I was monitoring his diapers and it didn't add up. Then, I would contact my wic peer. They're job is to help you reach your goals. Listen to them. But hey, do what you feel is right though.

Oh and something I just recently learned. If, for some reason you are not producing enough while you are in the hospital and they are suggesting formula, you can ask them to manually release the breastmilk with a syringe. I thought that was good to know. Lastly, to answer your burping question.. Bottle fed babies get a lot of bubbles (air) in their stomach so they require a burp everytime. Breastfed babies will not burp everytime because they are not getting air as much at all when feeding. You still want to try to burp them for release purposes, but if they do not burp it is okay and perfectly normal.

that is great to know I didn't know they could release the breast milk with a syringe. And okay I wasn't for sure if I was supposed to try to burp the baby after he is done feeding. Thank you so.much u have given me a bunch of useful information and I appreciate it so much!!! @biamia
