I find it absolutely ridiculous and so frustrating that women with perfectly healthy pregnancies are trying induce themselves before 40 weeks. If you hit 40 weeks, discuss with your doctor the safe ways to induce. But to induce yourself at 36 weeks and have a 4lb baby because you are uncomfortable?? Sorry I find that incredibly selfish. Baby's who are 7-8 lb are generally better eaters and have fewer problems. I am 37 week on Tuesday and I am just hoping my baby boy comes when he's good and ready. I wouldn't try to force him out unless I needed to medically. I can't sleep more than 3 hours a day on a good day, I have horrible heart burn and acid reflux, I can't get comfortable, I feel nauseous, I am exhausted.... But this baby.... My son will come when he is ready. Not when I feel it's easiest for me. I don't mean to offend anyone by this.. I just simply don't get it.

I agree, personally. Possibly because a) I'm having labor issues at 35 weeks and have been since 32 and they're no longer going to try and stop it and b) I was recently informed that going much past 39 weeks was unsafe because of my chances of still birth, due to preexisting medical conditions. Who knows, but even though my little girl is estimated to be 6 lbs 14 oz and is measuring above average (89%), I wish I could keep her put as long as possible. I've been miserable most of this pregnancy, but I can't imagine trying to evict my daughter before she's ready or is medically necessary.

I love this post. My husband and I discussed many times how disgusting self induction is. I don't disagree with walking and sex just because those are so natural to.our bodies. But castor oil and shit like that? Give me a break. I had my daughter at 37 weeks and 5 days. I was pretty close to my due date and my daughter still only weighed 6lbs and 3oz. A baby will come when ready, you shouldn't force it!!

someone had put it in my boyfriends head if I have my sone before the first of the year I could get more tax money back so he asked me about getting induced and it pissed me off!! I told him that im not inducing my child bc of money!! I much rather work everyday of my life to make the money then have my baby early for money bc hes not due till January 16

Exactly! I have considered eventually later in life being a surrogate for someone. I feel like that would be a great gift to give someone but at the same time I don't know if I could get connected to a baby that way and just walk away.
