For those of you mommies that have already had a baby. How did your dog's react to the new baby (if you have one) when yall came home? I have 2 a Chihuahua and I mix between healer/lab/pit... I wanna say they'll be good guard dogs and love the baby but idk... Our big dog doesn't like people due to her getting hit by a car last year it wasn't very good but she's very protective over my baby sister that is 1 1/2 and she's known her since she was 3months and my little dog just kinda stays away from people/babies

I have a German shepherd who made me nervous at first. I still don't really allow her to be alone with the baby, she always licks my son so I think that's a good sign, she's protective always checking in on him. we let her outside when me and the baby came home and we took a blanket and allowed the dog to sniff it before bringing her back inside to meet the baby.
