how do you just convert like that? and why did you?

@18andpregnant, Born Christian (NOT a religious family just believed in god), dated a Muslim ( he wasnt very religious), after a little bit I become curios and started reading and watching lectures. Once i started understanding the the religion I fell in love with it and everything just made since. I told the man I was dating we either had to marry or go different ways. He still wanted to be free I suppose. I meet my husband a month later got married a month after that and become Muslim a few months later when I felt It was right. All you do is give you testimony of faith and your muslim.

@krb0911, i have no clue how the religion works but....don't you loose all your rights as a woman or is that just in the country? isn't it a complete different way of life?....

@18andpregnant, It definitely changes your life but for the better. We have out holy book and then we also have sayings of the prophet Mohammed pbuh it teaches us how we should live and treat people.

Many people confuse culture and Islam they are completely different.

Islam which is the religion of Muslim put women on a pedistal.

1. Heaven is at the bottom of your mother feet. Meaning even if you treat you mother the best that can't even compare to one scream doing labor.

2. A man has to support his wife. If she wants to work her money is for her. she can help her husband if she wants if not he can't make her. She can do as she pleases with it.

3. The scarf or coving isn't for the husband it's to protect women. To protect them from men just thinking they are meat. It's so they can be looked at as jewels and for men to be forced to see what's within. I can take my scarf off tomorrow and my husband has no say.

Just like any other religion people take what they want out of it and use that instead of the truth.

@18andpregnant, LOL my husband is a born muslim and let me tell you he puts up with a lot of my crap lol I am very stubborn and opinionated lol he is for sure the nice one out of the 2 of us.

@fatmomma :) assalamoalikum ! When I started covering I started slow with long sleeves and longer shirts to cover my bum. Then once I was comfortable with that I started with the scarf just wrapping it loose with some hair still showing. Then I would wrap it tighter until no hair showed. Then I moved onto dress with cardigans to be more modest. I love Abayas but they are super expensive so I just stick with dresses. Now it's been 3 years and I can't imagine taking it off. I try to wear pants to workout and it feels so werid.

it do not feel bad we all struggle with something I am not very good with prayer idk y. I do good for a bit then I miss one and I get al messed. so if you have advice on this I would to hear it :)

@lc, Thank you girl ! yes alhumdulilah it'd been a journey definitely not an easy road but so happy I made the choice.Very excited for my daughter to be a born muslim !

@nylahmylovely, Thank you ! I was Christian when I got married Islamic you men can marry anyone by the book meaning Christian or jew. When I got married I was interested in Islam but wasn't ready to revert. I never could understand how Jesus was gods son. how could god be so mighty make the heavens and earth but have a human son. Islam tells us he is a phophet sent by God . just makes sense to me.

@nylahmylovely, Definitely do not become Muslim for anyone it's a huge change and you should feel it in your heart. As true believers his family should show you Islam is the way not force you into it especially sense you can be Christian and be married to their son. Research about it and you will. surprised! @nylahmylovely, catholics are considered by the book because they have the bible. Islamicly we believe in 3 Devine books the gospel (bible) Torah (jewish) and Quran (islam). A muslin man can marry any women by the booking meaning any women who believes in this but the children have to follow the father. so your children will be born muslim.

I like this post you explain some Awesome things , it is hard . Especially as a new Muslim . Because you would think the sisters would embrace you but they don't as much as you think they would and you are lonely
