Rant/Need Advice:

My father in-law is an amazing, sweet, gentlemen. He's not married, and doesn't have a girlfriend. He lives with a woman that he's been friends with for 20 years. She is married to a welder, she doesn't work, and an alcoholic. She assumes that just because she is best friends with my father in-law, she will be allowed in my room at the hospital, once the baby is born. She talks a lot of shit about me, about how I'm a shitty person because it took me, and my hubby six months to get our vehicle running (father in-law helped us, he's a mechanic), we work minimum wage jobs, and pay bills (rent, electric, gas, groceries, medicine, I'm a diabetic). It took us a while to save up the money, but WE did it without help! Yet she glorifies her son, who is getting a new truck because she's paying for it. Anyways, when she gets to drinking she talks a lot of shit, about everyone. She even calls my father in-law a piece of shit (her best friend). She shops all day with her husbands money, and brags about all this materialistic crap that I don't care about. She even insults me about my weight when I eat. Then tells me how to raise my unborn baby. I haven't been over there to see my father in-law for about a month now. She's getting butt hurt, because I won't come see her. I honestly DO NOT want this woman in my child's life, or in my life. But its my father in-laws best friend, and I don't know how to say this to him, without offending, or upsetting him. He's such a great man! Even my hubby doesn't like her, but he tolerates her, for his dad. I can't tolerate someone who talks down about me nonstop. She never has anything nice to say to me. I don't want her around my baby. Am I wrong? How should I tell father in-law I don't want her at the hospital? Plus my mom wants to kick her ass for the way she treats me (my mom will be in the delivery room). So I'm also avoiding conflict on the day of my baby's arrival.....help /:

Tell him just how you explained it on that status... Be mature be honest this is your child also you don't want that stress in the room with you when you deliver that's not fair to anyone

I would just tell him, there's no reason you should feel bad. Point blank she's no one, she's just a friend of someone else's. Not yours. who can choose who you want in the delivery room and you want to be comfortable not uncomfortable so just talk to him. Hope everything turns out

I wish it were that simple, he claims her as family....which means its a package deal, sadly. I want nothing more than to be honest with him, but I get the feeling I'll be judged hard, and hated for feeling the way I do. Thank you ladies, will be thinking on this all.

I don't want my sister in my child's life. she's telling me how to deal with my pregnancy, what to do, what to eat, and how to raise him/her. I told my dad. at first he got upset about it but he eventually calmed down

This is as simple or as complicated as you allow it to be! I wouldn't care about that woman's feelings and if your father in law as great as you say he is he'll understand completely where you're coming from! I wouldn't worry about him being offended. I'd be more concerned with the well being of my child! Also if you think there's a slight chance that she will cause conflict during the birth of your child there's definitely no reason to hold back on keeping her out! You get a once in a lifetime experience with this baby and no one gets to ruin that! I'll be praying for you in this process Boo! 😘😘@iisavana
