So I'm 12 weeks pregnant and my doctor had given me antibiotics for bv at the beginning of my pregnancy and now I'm pretty sure it's back so I called the on call doctor and she sent me a super strong antibiotics that 4 pills that I take all at once that are 500 mg each. Anyone else have this? I thought it sounded way too strong but she knew I was pregnant so surely she wouldn't prescribe something too strong.

You can call again & tell them how you feel before you take it.. & make sure they know your pregnant for cause that does sound like a lot..

@January10th, I told the lady when I called I was pregnant. And the doctor said she had looked at my file and asked when I had another appointment and I told her not tell December and she was like well we have to test for that but we should probably should try a stronger antibiotics. And if that didn't work then to make another appointment. I took the antibiotics since it was the same thing I had last time just stronger. I'm sure she knew I was pregnant.

Oh okay well that's good then hopefully you get better. I'm sure she wouldn't give you anything that would harm your baby

its fine.... antibotics wont hurt the baby... the 4 pills are a loading dose which helps kick start getting rid of the virus.... just makesure you eat yogurt everyday or else you will get a yeast infection... and those are absolutely not fun

@marushka22, I actually got one when I took antibiotics the first time. And finally got it gone then started having issues again! Can't seem to keep the infections at bay this time! With my Daughter I had 1 uti at the end that I know of. And thank you. I was kinda worried with it being such a high dosage of it.

normally antibiotics dont cross the placenta barrier and when they do it wont harm it... :)

I have had BV since June when I was about 2 months pregnant and I have been given every cream and pills and I still have it. it just doesn't wanna go away 😢

@kaymariah, That's how I feel! Mine went away and I got a yeast infection. Then that went away and I got it back! And I'm so uncomfortable from it all I wish I could just cuddle in bed all day!

I had bv before I got pregnant got the cream came back during my pregnancy & I wasn't given any antibiotics till my 2nd trimester my doctor said it's not really safe to take any antibiotics at the first trimester ... & then got cream still had it .. In l&d I was given antibiotics in my IV & now again another different cream I hate it /: doesn't go away
