I can't tell you how many times I've been ridiculed for keeping my son, as if any other option went through my mind, but ever sense I became pregnant I suddenly became stupid, whore/slut (even though I've been with the father for 4 years), I'll never amount too much now, my dreams are over, I can kiss the perfect life goodbye etc. the list goes on. Its repulsive how young mothers (specifically 16-21) are ridiculed/shamed for keeping their child and owning up to an unplanned pregnancy I believe is the bravest thing a young women can do. I understand that yes some women put a bad rep on young mothers, because we in fact like it or not are young and do have a lot of growing up to do, but the fact of the matter is that if we choose to keep an unplanned baby we shouldn't be shamed instead should be given so much respect not only for stepping up, maturing twice our age in a short amount of time, working full time, going to school, being full time mom, I think we should get so much more credit for being able to juggle all of that. But we live in such a messed up society that we are judged for doing what we believe is right. Like it our not ANY baby is a gift from God, never a mistake. Just because you are young, doesn't mean that its a mistake, they were sent here for a reason that's immeasurable. Best believe my son will never want for anything, always have nice clothes that fit him, food in his belly, a nice warm place to sleep, a home to live in, school to go to. He will have the life he deserves because I am a mother, I'm not a typical "teen mom", not a baby having a baby, not a whore/slut, an idiot, I am a mother and that is it. Age doesn't define how great of a mother you are. Rant over
