Ladies I need some advice. There is a woman on my boyfriends side of the family who has a boy who almost 2 now. He is such a sweet and smart kid and is the goofiest kid ever. However his dad walked out and his mom... Well she does nothing but yell at him, she doesn't change him unless his diaper is soaking through or someone else does it, she ignores his needs when he's hungry or thirsty. Feeds him nothing but sugar... She gets her mom my boyfriends aunt to do everything for her because she's "in pain" and pawns him off on anyone who is in the room. She neglects him and it breaks my heart cause they think it's funny that she has no patience and she brags about how many pain meds she's taking. I have been debating calling into child services and I don't know if I should because it's family... I want to call but I'm feeling guilty. I feel worse having not called... What do I do?

Can't say I have a similar situation, but recently my own aunt has moved back in with her husband who has full custody of their children boy who is 12 and a girl who is 5. He does nothing but spend the money the children receive from the state at casinos, doesn't buy food or buy them clothes for school and such. My aunt kept hounding me and my mom not to call child services for months and months. Claiming she would eventually turn him in "yada yada" Last few weeks me and my mom have just been disgusted so we called and have made reports. yes it is family, but I know my cousins deserve better than how they're being treated. so if you feel like that little boy deserves better, I would call. even if it is family.

@kaity0117, it's sad when kids are in those sorts of situations.. Hope things look up for him, as well as what you see. Good luck making the calls or whatever you need to do. At least he has someone looking out for him :)

The child deserves far better and it sounds like the mom needs some help, as in she has a pain pill issue. And the issue may have started bc she wasn't receiving appropriate care. It's a tough decision but perhaps a call will get things moving in the right direction for both child & parent.

Thanks ladies just the push I needed. This has been bothering me for weeks I didn't know what to do about it. I'm definitely making the call because I can't keep hoping that her mom will step up and tell her something needs to change @babyboolala @christineann @countdown2klea

Besides the longer you wait to help the baby the more he's suffering ...and that's no good! 😔😥
