Don't buy to many newborn, but buy size 1 and 2. ultrasounds aren't always completely accurate with weight my doctor thought my daughter was gonna a lot smaller than she was. But size 1 can fit a newborn if they're like 6 pounds ish, they'll be big, but fit. But if male you feel comfortable, all power to you! I do did the same thing! Every trip to the store I bought a bag of diapers.
