Дети на улице: вопрос родителям

Just curious, but I hear so many different things and even have noticed with other kids they don’t like to play outside a lot and think maybe things are different at their house than mine.

When it’s nice out do you mostly tell the kids to go outside and play?, do you let them stay in and play? Is there a limit on video game use or are they allowed to stay in watch tv/video games.

When it’s nice out here I encourage outside play a lot, they do come in and have lunch or maybe take alittle break from the heat but usually when they are done they go back out and play.

We're like the only family in our neighborhood that is consistently outside. We've have a pool, playscape, and trampoline. Those get used everyday unless it's weather. Everyday after dinner we play in the driveway with chalk, bubbles, pickle ball, etc. Take bike/scooter rides. It's the only way my kids will burn energy to sleep through the night lol. It makes me sad that other families aren't outside as much. When I was a kid all the kids would play together until dinner time outside. I thought that's what I was getting from this neighborhood but I guess not

It is sad, we live in the country so we don’t have too many kids around us.
But when my son has had friends over a lot of the time they don’t want to be out.

If it’s nice then I send my kids outside. We definitely have a limit on screens.

It's split here. Now that my kids are getting older, I find they lose interest in the "going outside to play". It has to have a purpose for them - like a friend football game, or playing baseball in the front yard. They've been enjoying the trampoline and swimming at the local pool. We do walks some evenings to get ice cream or go to a park, but we absolutely have lazy days as well!

My oldest gets overwhelmed outside sometimes, and he hates the heat or cold, so he doesn’t always want to go out. T would live outside, but also likes to walk up to everyone and start conversations, so I have to be out with him still. Once we have our fence installed it’ll be easier.

I wish we could spend more time outside. I work from home and my wifi doesn't reach to our yard. And I can't just let my kids out by themselves.

My kids are outside 24/7 I have to give them a time for them to go outside so I can get stuff done inside the house. They would literally be outside from the moment they wake up. They eat breakfast, lunch & dinner in our patio until it gets too cold to eat outside lol. My yard isn’t fenced in so I would also have to be outside with my youngest.
Screens it’s only used before bed honestly. My kids aren’t into video games like at all.

That’s great! You don’t see that much anymore, which makes me sad. My kids love being outside and I really encourage it. My daughter would go out as soon as she wakes up too 🤣

@caffeinequeen., like you said you encourage them as well and not a lot of parents do so anymore which is very sad. I want my kids to be kids and live a life not based around electronics. This upcoming year I want to do the 1000 hours outside challenge, you can print out a huge coloring page and you let the kiddos color the amount of hours they spent outside each day 😅 I think it would be fun.

Here it's whatever he wants. Thankfully he loves outside and would rather dig holes and rides bikes still or swim but he does have days when he rather play video games all day

@mom2godzillaandwonkypets, it amazes me how many kids hate outside I remember that’s all I did as a kid! Thankfully my kids do love being outside especially the youngest one

We stay inside when it’s too hot to be outside (like 94 feels like 104) unless we are swimming. So during the afternoon they split between game time and tv time. Outside in the morning and early evenings. I’m big on outside time and not just sitting behind a screen.

I can understand that completely my sister lives where it is warmer and on those days she doesn’t the same thing.

My kid (since hitting the teen stages) likes to be indoors no matter the weather. It is a challenge to get a plan going to motivate on my days off and I work a lot.

So most days it is indoors (chatting with friends online or calls). I on the other-hand am an outgoing person. The house drives me bonkers if I am in it for days at a tome (2020 was hell). I can do one full day indoor but that is it. And probably only because I am tired, sick or crap weather outside lol. It gets more challenging to entertain kids as they age. They are less impressed with the simple stuff we used to distract them with.🤷‍♀️
