So my three year old had Covid two weeks ago and now his nose is congested. I’m convinced his school doesn’t have them wash their hands. He went to school four days (for two hours a day) and got Covid. Then after his two weeks were up he went to school two days and now his nose is congested. Do they not have preschoolers wash their hands?? Do they not disinfect toys?? I’m very very frustrated right now. He has to go to school because he’s in special needs for his speech and nothing I do helps him but every time he goes he gets sick. I’m losing my mind!! We also get horrible seasonal allergies and with the change of the season it could be that.. hopefully at least
Kids get sick even with hand washing and disinfecting toys. I worked at a preschool and would disinfect everything and wash hands constantly but they still got sick. I know my own child washes her hands alot and she's been sick 3 times since school started in September. Unfortunately it's the season for being sick.
Normal for preschool my son only ended up going to school a total of 8 weeks in a whole school year he was so sick and there were only 10 kids in the whole school he had never been to school before. It was a long year for us that year.
At his age I think this is normal. Especially if he has just started school his immune system will be getting hit hard. That’s one of the annoying things when kids go to school/daycare so young, there’s not much they can do because as soon as they wash their hands they are bound to touch someone else’s germs and put it in their mouth. My best friends daughter is the same age as my son but goes to daycare and she’s sick at least twice a month and her daycare is awesome and they disinfect everything. She’s had like 10 COVID tests in the last 6 months but never gotten COVID. My son gets sick like once every 6 months but he’s home with me.
That’s normal for preschool. My son hasn’t had Covid but he gets a cold every other week. He had a runny nose then caught the cough that his sister had and now they’ve both been coughing all week. Sometimes I can’t tell when one cold ends and the next one begins. It was the same when my daughter was in preschool. She was sick more than she wasn’t sick.
Kids are walking germ magnets. All 3 of mine started preschool when they were 2 and they had colds constantly. On the bright side, they all have strong immune systems and don’t get sick much at all anymore. Even my youngest that’s in kindergarten rarely gets sick now.
