Sorry for the long rant but I don't know what to do anymore. R punched his teacher yesterday, so dad took the privilege of going out to Friendly's away from him. I love my MIL but she makes me feel like im the reason for the discipline R gets and that I are too hard on him I AM NOT!(there is a LONG history of behavioral problems that she likes to ignore). He is with me 95% of the time so if i need to do in the moment discipline i do (but my husband and i agree on how to handle things and its by no means harsh) but if more Discipline is needed (things taken away, etc) i ALWAYS run thing by my husband because R isn't mine. Now again my husband and i agree on almost everything but i still run it by him!

My husband is going to talk to his dad about it at some point because his mom acts like R can't understand things. Her statement last night was 'he's not going to be able to make the connection that the reason he didn't come is because he punch his teacher'. Dad and I both make sure he understands why things happen! I know my MIL knows how smart R is but she acts like he's not when things don't go her way. She also tells me I'm too hard on R and to easy on G. Bear in mind at 3 I tried to handle things with R the same way I am with G but i was told at that point that i was being too hard on R still. I just don't know what to do anymore, nothing i do is good enough. My husband is 100% on my side with things but to constantly have someone telling you your being too hard on a child thats behavior is continuously getting worse and they are physically hurting other people, and the discipline you give is basically the same discipline you're giving your 3 year old that your 'going to easy on' i just don't get it. Ive spent most of my morning crying because i have to bring R to her today and i don't even want to see her for those few minutes to drop him off.
