Okay so it’s not a bruise. Cupping has been part of Chinese and other eastern medicines for centuries. It’s been used for detox, circulation issues, lymphatic drainage and to move stagnant energy in the body. They say the darker the mark, the more energy that needed to be stored. It’s very often part of an acupuncture treatment as well. in the past but now in the US it became more well known for muscle recovery after Michael Phelps used it during the last summer Olympics. The CrossFit bunch love it now. It didn’t hurt at all, it felt good actually. I left less stressed and feeling a little more balanced

Hey mama! So is it just suction marks or does your skin actually bruise? And what is the benefit of this?

@fairykarmamomma Prior to Covid I was getting weekly acupuncture and had never heard of this until you mentioned it a few weeks back. When I resume I'll have to ask him about it. Sounds interesting enough and if he thinks it would be beneficial for me, I might give it a try. So it's basically a suction bruise in a sense? How long for it to go away? And do they hurt after the actual therapy even though not during?
