goodmorning moms. do anyone have a specific brand of cough medicine for infants? i have a 9 month old who has been taking Zarbee's for about 3-4 days & nothing has changed.
Zarbees makes a chest rub similar to vicks. I put some on the chest and feet under socks at night and first thing in the morning and it seems to help
okay thank you. i was just seeing that on walmart website. & i was thinking about baby vicks.
I thought cough medicine for children under 6 was banned? It definitely is in Canada but when Canada banned it I thought the USA did too
@queendope, I remember when it was banned my oldest was a toddler and it was because too many people who overdosing their kids on it and kids were dying smh, I’ve never given any of my kids it so I don’t know how well it ever worked. Get a humidifier if you haven’t already though it will def help and some you can add a vicks or eucalyptus oil to help as well.
@mimixtmn, sheeeeeesh! that's crazy. well they need to do the US the same way. doesn't work anyway
I don’t Medicate for cough for my kids or myself. We cough because it helps protect and clear our airways and lungs. Its also the way our body gets rid of foreign particles, irritants, microbes, mucus and bacteria, allergens from the throat. Coughing, by forcing air out of the lungs under high pressure, attempts to clear the throat so it’s productive for the body to do.
@queendope, really because in 2007 the fda found that cough syrup isn’t effective or safe. Zarbee’s is an all natural cough relief. But it’s not medication.
Cough medicine and Vick’s can be harmful before the age of 2. I’d call your pediatrician.
Nothing else they can take other than Natural stuff like Zarbees which did nothing for her.
