Ok ladies I could use some great knowledge about a Pre-K program. Im going to be working with my daughter this year at home, and any insight would be great! I've read about mother goose or ABC Mouse pre k curriculums. Is there any one who has any experience with any of these at all?

I'm about to go to bed so will be short but can answer more tomorrow or Monday. Recently started using ABC Mouse. My girls enjoy it but bc I'm not big on tech they don't get as much time on it. I use it more as a treat than an actual curriculum but it really has taught them so much. My two year old has started counting to ten and knows some higher numbers as well. That coupled with reading, a chalk board, and CocoMelon(and others like it) they are learning a lot. I find by me just teaching them as we go along doing things and being interactive with them they learn the most. I do recommend ABC Mouse though and it's on sale right now. Pre-K to second grade curriculum so if your baby is a fast learner you can just move her on up and it will feel like fun and games to her. She won't even realize she is learning.

Thank you for this! I really appreciate it. I've also looked into mothergoose too I was trying to find something more hands on that doesn't involve a tablet. That way she is used to a schedule and how school will be when she goes. It's so overwhelming to figure out. lol

@onthegomomma Good morning! I personally think that hands on play and real life scenarios are the best teaching resources we have for our children. Counting things out when cooking daily, helping to pour and measure. Learning how to stir and gather. Pen and paper. My 4 yr dd can already write some of her letters and is able to use scissors. That may not sound like much to some but I know it's not an expected milestone for her yet. And dd 2 is 2yr. She is also starting to write. She can make an A. It's a start. I like handing them paper and pencils, crayons, etc. I know most are moving fast with technology but I'm not comfortable with that. Perhaps it's bc I have seen so many young children who can't be out in public in a well behaved manner without being "plugged in". Maybe it's because I am an old lady at almost 38 and refer methods of my childhood. Maybe it's a combination of a lot of things. I use the ABC Mouse and tv at my convenience as a treat and my children love it. Be careful with the tech please. As I allow more tv during my current remodel I have noticed that the girls are less able to sit still and less attentive to reading time, NOT GOOD!!! Just two months ago they could sit for book after book!!! And now bc I have been remodeling my home I have been giving them way too much tv time to keep them safe and occupied. I feel that tv and tech though it has its place in our modern lives is really ruining our children. Books, crayons, papers, coloring books, markers, paints, outdoor time, running, jumping, playing, climbing, skipping, etc is so much better than any program!!! But the programs when used appropriately can absolutely help them leaned and they are fun for me, too. I printed them some coloring sheets yesterday and they had fun with it. My big girl loves learning geography and knows most of the states. When she asks to learn something I take the time when able to drop everything to teach her. Hand and eye coordination are built through the physical grasping and completion of tasks, also. Hope this all helps with your choice. Oh, and I have never heard of Mother Goose so will look into that one. 🙂Have a great day!!!
