I need advice..my son is 4 he will be 5 in May. He is in pre-school and I enrolled him for kindergarten for this next school year that starts in August so he will be 5 in kindergarten. My husband is trying to convince me to keep him in pre-school one more year. He says it lets him be a kid one more year rather than graduate at 17 and he won’t be the small kid etc. I feel like he would get bored spending another year in pre-school. Any advice or experience?
I’m with your dh on this one too. I mean technically he’s old enough for kindergarten but he’s going to be very young for kindergarten. Do they have 1/2 or full day there? That would also depend on my decision too. A new 5 year old is still young. Both my boys are the oldest in their class and I’m very thankful for that, especially with boys.
It will be full day. I am so torn, there are such good reasons for both
I graduated at 17 and everything was fine. Age doesn't determine size. You make friends of all ages so it doesn't really matter.
Tons of kids are years younger if they surpass their ages grade level. I've never met an individual who was picked on due to it.
Also since most schools end in June, he will be 18 the day he graduates if starting this year, 19 if starting next year.
I started school at age 6 and graduated wen I was 18 .. my sis also started at age 6 but she graduated at 17 cuz she finished school early .. I don’t think people really look at people in their grade by their age .. I had a kid in my class who was almost 20 cuz he was held back a few times in elementary school but everyone was cool with him no one looked at him as he’s too old or anything my daughter will be starting school when she’s 6 only because she was born in September and where I live u have to be born before the end of August wen the new year starts otherwise u have to wait til the next school year starts
I am with your husband. My husband graduated at 17 and so did my sister and both had issues with being among the youngest in their grade and struggling maturity wise even through graduation.
We didn't start our daughter until she was 6, but we always engaged her in other ways and she is a super happy 1st grader now. Her ability to pay attention for longer periods if time and not wiggle around is such a dramatic difference than when she was 5.
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

My son starts kindergarten in a month. I went to the schools website to try to find a list of supplies they need. One thing is headphones for iPad...I hate that schools are starting to do this!!!! A lot of kids already have an iPad or kindle or some sort of technology at home, school should be a break from it! Also why would you give a 6 year old an iPad & expect it to be in the same exact condition at the end of the year!?! Does your kids school have iPads?
Summer Birthday and School
My son is 4. His birthday is in mid July. We are going to hold him in pre school one more year. Did any of you with school age kids do this, too? How have they done in school being older?
Who else has financial issues within their relationship?? Or am I just lucky 🙄🙄
Not sure if I'm being just mean or what. But my SO used $160 from me this morning. I gave him my bank card because he needed $60 to get material for work. His boss was going to give it back to him at the end of the day. So instead of $60 he took out $160. Which I was a little pissed. (One of the reasons I just can't let him use my card. I have to go get the money from the atm myself if I'm giving it to him) then, to...
I would be putting him in kindergarten. In fact, two of mine will be 17 when they graduate.
