College question: do any of you ladies happen to know if 50 points considered a lot on an SAT score? like if a program requires a minimum combined score of 1000 but you have a 950 is that a big difference? It’s been awhile since I dealt with this stuff.

I would say yes! Just because 950 is below average while 1000 is right at average. It’s makes a difference. And then maybe no, because the test sections are scored differently. So if you missed a lot of math questions, it’s not a lot point wise. You could retake it. But colleges look at it as a whole usually.

If it is a minimum they're asking for it would probably make a difference in whether you're accepted or not for a special program. I can imagine they don't even look at anything below the minimum and that's how they rule people out easily

it’s not a huge difference but i don’t think it would qualify. you’d have to call the program director or whoever is in charge of that area to find out for sure.
