so i’ve been thinking about moving in my boyfriends sisters house w him and our son. our son is 8 months old now, we just started getting along better and being a couple this past month. we know we want to be together but are we moving too fast? should we just stay where we are and save our money up to get our own place? or should we move into her house? we’d stay in the garage and there’s enough space for us to have our own space in the garage. I just need some advice bc it would be a big decision, she lives almost an hour away from where we’re staying now.
I would say no to moving into her house. Do y’all live together now? Knowing from experience I would enjoy your space. If y’all just started being a real couple this last past month then y’all need to work on building a bond and a solid foundation because living together is a struggle of its own. It won’t be pretty everyday so if the relationship is just newly going good I wouldn’t put the unnecessary stress onto it.
& no we’re not currently living together, we stay the night together sometimes but that’s it
I would stay where your at unless moving in with her is beneficial like you guys are able to save money if that’s not the case I would stay put . Talking from past experiences I would only move in with her to save money and able to move out and be on our own . I hate living with other people you don’t have your own kitchen or living room it sucks cause for me I love my own space & all . I’m currently living with my SIL & there’s days that I regret making this decision but it’s all because we don’t make it alone and living with her we have a few money left at least . So yeah ...
I’m staying w my mom right now and he’s staying w an aunt. we would save money in a way but if we did move most of it would go towards gas for the car so he can get back and forth to work every day. so that’s a good point
I don’t think I would want to move my son into my sister-in-law’s garage. I think you should save your money so you can have your own space and feel good about it
thanks hun, i’ve been going back and forth but I think that’s what we’ll do. we can save for an apartment and be in 1 by january i’m hoping, maybe sooner

A Statement from Mom.Life:
Hey everyone!
Last night, a new user began messaging our moms asking for private pictures of toddlers and young children. This is obviously unacceptable behavior, and the account was banned immediately. Although thankfully extremely rare on Mom.Life, several users were understandably upset by this, so we wanted to clarify a few things:

Speaking from experience never move in with family and a spouse. Never ends well. Save and get your own. You'll be better off trust me and everyone else saying the same thing.
