I’ve recently been using a sling and absolutely love it, he falls asleep immediately because of how the sling lets him be positioned. It’s not a ring sling though, I was nervous about how safe and sturdy they are, but now that I’m used to this one, I may try to get a ring one soon.

Did you use immediately after birth or like a few weeks/months later? I wanted to try using like right away.
