Hi guys!! I have not been up here in a while. Being a new mommy has completely taken me over. I semi miss my Buddah Belly but love seeing my angels face even more. Anyone have any advice for helping me regain my energy tho.. I am forever tired.

Of course hun!

Every baby is different and they do everything on their own time so it’s okay if she’s not hitting these same milestones at the same time. If your pedi is worried, he or she will let you know.

For my son at two months old he started smiling and trying to coo more. He could recognize my voice and follow me around with his eyes at a close distance. He stayed up a bit longer but was still taking 2-3 hour naps often. Now at 3 months he can see me from across the room. He’ll stare at me if anyone else is holding him or if I put him down somewhere. 😂 He’s super clingy. He can hold his head up on his own pretty well but is still wobbly. He can lift his head an inch or two off the ground while on his tummy for about a minute before taking a break. He is now laughing and smiling and he loves when I sing to him. He’s staying up a lot longer and only naps a few times a day now. He’s sleeping through the night basically. He wakes up one time at 3-5 to eat and then he wakes up at 7-8 for the day. He takes 2-3 naps depending on how tired he is that day. He love love loves bathtime. I have little rubber ducks I let float around and he watches them and splashes.

For tummy time you can start as soon as their umbilical cord falls off. When they’re a month old, only for it for 2-3 minutes a few times a day. She may hate it and that’s okay. It’ll probably be hard to watch her cry and get frustrated but it’s so good for them to build their neck muscles. At 2 months my son was doing tummy time for 5 minutes several times a day and now at basically 3 months he does it for 10-15 minutes multiple times a day. Once he can hold his head up on his own within the next month or two I’ll put him on his tummy until he wants to be picked up.

@korimommi, He’s actually about to turn 3 months old. Would you like me to answer what he was doing at 2 months or what he’s doing at technically 3? I could do both. 🙂

@korimommi, the first two months are the hardest. I do it alone all day until my boyfriend comes home at night. It isn’t easy and you’re tired. I think being tired just comes with being a mom. Grayson just started sleeping more through the night so I’m a little less tired than I was waking up every 2-3 hours, but I don’t think it goes away until they’re older and sleeping through the night.
