I think I’m going to do it... I’m going to breastfeed😩 ugh any advice? The main reason I am so scared is my nipples cracking and being sore and clothing and bras and the pads for leakage it’ll be during winter time too so I’ll have to find warm clothing that is easy to take on and off THIS PAGE NEEDS A BREASTFEEDING GROUP LOL

I would say get a good nipple cream to apply between feeds. Really helped my cracked nipples!

@mommynmotion you can wear breast pads at night if that's what makes you comfortable. I put a water proof mattress cover on my bed and would just bring a towel to bed with me because it hurt to sleep with any kind of top on lol. I pumped often. I was so engorged I had to so i was pumping in between feeds and I had to pump a couple times at night too. you can also self express if you're just a bit uncomfortable. In the beginning baby will eat quite a bit so you probably won't need an alarm. my daughter was up every 2 hours like clockwork. it was only after she was a few months that I'd wake up uncomfortable enough to have to pump at night. I'm no expert or anything these are just tips that helped me get through when it was tough :) you can add me if you like and I'll always be available for a chat if you need some support!

try not to stress too much, my first experience with breastfeeding was extremely hard. I was too engorged for my baby to latch properly so I pumped for almost two months. I leaked like crazy and everything I wore or slept on was wet, I used disposable nursing pads they are the only ones that absorbed a good amount. I leaked through the cloth ones. I was determined to breastfeed so I had to use a nipple shield for about a month. it was amazing and helped with my sore nipples. I think my daughter was about 4 months when I could finally just breastfeed her like "normal". I did however have mastitis and continued getting blocked ducts after that. My advice would be to take it slow and only push yourself as hard as you can. I'm glad I pushed myself to do it even though it was hard but for some it's painful and not worth the stress on mum or baby. I'm going to invest in breastfeeding hoodies this time around 😊 it's cold here in Canada so lifting up my shirt in some places was really uncomfortable haha.

I had my last daughter in October. I just wore a nursing tank under my shirt and lifted my shirt to nurse. And as far as cracked sore nipples just leave some of your breast milk on your nipple and let it air dry. And make sure to change your breast pads often if they are soaked. That can make.them more sensitive.

I have never found a good breast pad. But of course the last time I needed them was 7 years ago.

I agree with @oceanbabe424. Earth Mama Angel Baby cream and bamboobies washable nursing pads are the best

Just lift up your shirt. That’s what I did with my oldest who was born in February.
